Starlet, 15, and Angel, 11, grew up believing that Miss Dugard, 29, was also a daughter of their father Philip Garrido, 58, and that there was just a large age gap.They are thought to have regarded Garrido's wife Nancy, 54, as their motherchildren, who have been completely sheltered from the outside world, are said to be struggling to come to terms with the sudden disintegration of their family structure.

"They thought Jaycee was their sister," Miss Dugard's stepfather, Carl Probyn, said. "People have to realise this will take years of therapy."

Ernie Allen, president of the National Centre for Missing and Exploited Children which has been working with the family, said: "It's important to reinforce with them that they've done nothing wrong. Jaycee will play a key role in this. It's going to take patience and time to help these children."

In her first prison interview with her lawyer Mrs Garrido claimed she "loved and missed" all three girls and that they were her "family".

ashamed It all just makes me physically sick to think that people could be so sick and cruel and selfish.  Robbing this girl of a good portion of her childhood and all of her teens and all of ther twenties.  These daughters of her's too.  How will they ever live a good life?!  disbelief  You know the sad thing about the monsters that did this to these girls?!  They will probably put them in solitary so they aren't in "danger" from the other inmates...furious  I say, let them have at them.....torture them for the rest of there miserable existence.  no

I agree.  This hideous monster has done it before, put in jail, then of course was let out.  He had a history of rape.  His stupid wife married him while he was serving time in jail so we know what kind of an idiot she is.
